Vishwam Ekam Art of Living International Center | Interior Concept Proposal

Project Statement

Vishwam Ekam is conceived as an immersive spatial narrative inspired by the fundamental
principle that all existence emerges from a single interconnected source.

Designed for the Art of Living International Center, the proposal transforms the congregation hall
into a unified experiential environment where architecture, light, craft, and symbolism converge.
Drawing inspiration from the natural systems that sustain life—forest, water, sky, earth, and the
unseen forces that connect them—the design creates a continuous visual language across the hall.

Rather than treating the ceiling, stage backdrop, and structural columns as separate architectural
components, the proposal weaves them into a singular composition. Flowing forms, handcrafted
textures, illuminated elements, and nature-inspired motifs extend throughout the space, creating an
environment that evokes movement, growth, connection, and collective consciousness.

Rivers become symbols of continuity. Forests express networks of life. Flight embodies freedom
and transcendence. Light emerges as a medium of awareness, revealing layers of meaning
embedded within the architecture.

The result is a contemplative interior landscape that transforms a large gathering space into an
environment of reflection, belonging, and shared experience—an embodiment of the idea that
beneath diversity lies an underlying unity.

Design Components

01 | Living Canopy
A large-scale ceiling installation spanning the congregation hall. Inspired by flowing waterways, root
networks, wind patterns, and ecological systems, the canopy forms a continuous overhead
landscape that visually connects the entire space.

02 | Cosmic Horizon
A sculptural stage backdrop inspired by the meeting of earth and sky. Layered cloud formations,
avian movements, illuminated elements, and flowing contours create a symbolic horizon that
frames gatherings and performances.

03 | Columns of Connection
A series of sculptural interventions integrated with the hall’s structural columns. Organic forms
emerge and intertwine across each surface, transforming structural elements into expressions of
growth and continuity.

04 | Integrated Light Sculpture
Light is treated as an architectural material rather than a supplementary element. Embedded within
sculptural forms and crafted surfaces, illumination creates moments of depth, discovery, and
atmosphere.
